NEW PATIENTS at Downey Chiropractic Center
Treatment at Downey Chiropractic Center is individualized for each person. However, you may find that your experience at our clinic follows a procedure similar to this:
NEW PATIENT WELCOME
REPORT OF FINDINGS
Patient Information: Upon entering our office you will be welcomed by our receptionist and will be provided forms for you to complete. You may also PRINT AND FILL THEM OUT AT HOME (click me), then bring them with you on your first appointment. This paperwork provides us with general information about you and your condition. If applicable, the documents will provide us with the information necessary for the processing of your insurance claim.
Consultation: The next step for a new patient is the consultation with the doctor. At this time you will have the opportunity to discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as possible treatment options. The purpose of your first visit is to familiarize the doctor with your condition and your expectations, and to determine whether chiropractic care will meet your goals.
Examination: With an understanding of your health history and concerns, the doctor will then perform a thorough examination which includes chiropractic, orthopedic, neurological, postural, and physical examinations. No tests will be performed in our office without your consent.
X-ray Studies: Your specific condition may require X-rays that will help us rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Upon seeing one's X-rays, most people are able to actually identify their own misalignments (subluxations).
Treatment is interactive, so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
Report of Findings: Once all the information has been gathered and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings to answer questions such as these:
Treatment: Treatment for your condition may include specific stretches, exercises, ergonomic recommendations and adjustment of the involved regions. An adjustment restores normal movement to joints of the spine and extremities reducing pain and improving motion, allowing your nervous system to function properly. This is accomplished by using the least amount of force necessary to restore motion. This is not painful. Most patients report increased mobility and or a sense of calm and wellbeing after the correction.
